My Story

My love for OT started at a young age! I have a sister with a TBI and spent many afternoons in her therapy clinic as they treated her debilitating sensory processing issues with strategic play! I watched my sister progress from not wanting to have her face or head touched to being able to tolerate necessary grooming tasks without a severe meltdown. The impact her OTs and SLPs made on her ability to learn, communicate and play was truly life changing! I have worked in many areas of OT but because of my sister’s story sensory integration has and always will be my true passion.  

While I always knew the benefit of OT for children with neurological disorders, developmental disabilities ect it wasn’t until I had my own children that I realized the foundational concepts of occupational therapy can benefit ALL children even “neurotypicals”. Of course, most parents don’t know the concepts of sensory integration or OT unless their child has received OT services. I have always dreamed of creating a space where I can freely share my knowledge with parents, beyond the limitations of a clinical environment. After becoming a mom, I realized how valuable OT-based insights could be for all parents and began sharing my tips on instagram-thus, The Kinected OT was born!
